Greeks Ready to Fight: 1943

Greeks of the U.S. Army 122nd Infantry battalion vowing to avenge the invasion of their native land. The 122nd Infantry Battalion was given that name to mark 122 years of Greek independence from the Ottoman Turks. The unit, made up of Greeks and Greek-Americans, never saw action as a line unit. But it did become a source of Greek-speaking commando teams inserted into enemy-occupied Greece.
